Meet Whitney
I’m Whitney Olive, a former public school teacher, professional advocate, organizer, and proud military spouse running to represent North Carolina House District 63.
I grew up in a small Southern town, much like those in Alamance County, where I learned the value of hard work, humility, and showing up for my neighbors. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Alabama and a Master’s in Education from the University of Montevallo, then spent 15 years teaching in underserved schools. I worked alongside families striving for better opportunities despite real barriers, and their resilience and the gaps they faced inspired me to expand my work into advocacy.
Today, I fight for policies that support caregivers, strengthen communities, and make government work for the people it serves. I’m also pursuing a Master of Public Management from Johns Hopkins University, because I believe leadership requires both preparation and accountability.
My experience isn’t built on titles. It’s built on service.
I’m running because everyone deserves a seat at the table. No matter your background, party, or zip code, I will listen, show up, and fight for everyone in our district. That’s the leadership our community deserves, and that’s the promise I’m taking to Raleigh.
